Hypothesis
The presence of centric transfers is somewhat determined by the presence or absence of exchange modes of distribution of goods that facilitate the gathering of taxes (305).
Note
Centricity refers to the degree to which the transfers are patterned to focus on either an institution or an individual carrying out a society-wide role (centric transfers) or to focus on the relationship between distinct pairs of individuals who are not tied in their transactions to a societal-wide pattern (non-centric patterns) (34).
