Hypothesis
"Probably the most outstanding characteristic is the extent to which male age organizations cut across kin groups; only 2 cases contained only members of a single kin group"(243).

Note: These are description generalizations. Further, cross-cutting ties does not always lead to organizational power in tribal politics and economy. "Members police each other and aid in each other's disputes in 46.4% of the societies, and they offer mutual economic aid in 57.1% of the cases" (243).
