Hypothesis
Location (longitude) is significantly related to rates of collectivism and hierarchism among preindustrial societies (2).
Note
Longitude was tested linearly and squared to test for the presence of a bell-shaped curve. Collectivism was a factor score made up of seven ordinal codes regarding ingroup control over members. Hierarchism was a factor score based on 12 original codes regarding leadership centrality and authority.
