Hypothesis
Societal factors influence how economic wealth impacts a country's scientific success (measured by the HQSI index).
Note
Found population and presence of communism (either past or present) to be statistically significant with negative correlations to HQSI prediction, while WGI (Worldwide governance indicator) was statistically significant and positively associated with HQSI. The authors offer an interpretation stating "it is the smaller countries without a communist past or presence and with good governance that appear to be most successful in publishing high-impact scientific papers" (382)
