Hypothesis
Women's control of property (a proxy for their control of economic production) will be positively associated with indicators of high social status for women and negatively associated with indicators of low status (440).
Note
Of 8 variables indicating women's status, only two indicators of high status were signifcantly associated with property control. Three indicators of low status were negatively but non-significantly associated.
