Hypothesis

Societies that subsist on cereal crops in North America are less reliant on farming than those in Eurasia and Africa.

Note

This hypothesis attempts to show that North American societies also fall into this "middle-ground" subsistence strategy. The authors argue that this is potentially due to an absence in agropastoralism in North America.
