Hypothesis
Siestas are more likely to be present in cultures whose members suffer from impaired health, either from disease or malnutrition (239).
Note
The presence of malaria was the only variable shown to be significantly related to the presence of siestas. The relationships between the presence of siestas and the presence of infectious disease and of parasites were marginally significant, with p values of .06 and .07 respectively.
